Crux Concert Series!

At Boise Rock School we love gigging! Though we have tried to sneak students in to the Neurolux before (joking!!!!), it makes it way easier on us when the gig takes place at an all-ages venue. Well, as luck would have it, Boise’s premiere all-ages venue The Crux is only four blocks away from Boise Rock School! So this Spring, rad students from Boise Rock School will fill the downtown venue The Crux with awesome tunes with our version of a concert series.

Here are the dates: 1/30, 2/20, 3/27, 4/24 and 5/15.

Each show runs 6-9 pm and will kick off with an open-mic from 6-7 pm (anybody welcome) followed by a two-hour set featuring students from Boise Rock School.

Special “Science of Recording Class” with The Discovery Center!

On November 9th, Boise Rock School will offer a special “Science of Recording” class. This class offering represents a partnership between the The Discovery Center of Idaho (DCI) and Boise Rock School. The class will take place at the Boise Rock School (1404 West Idaho, Boise) from 1- 4 PM. This class is best suited for students in grades 4-6–but older and younger kids are welcome to attend. Cost of the class is $25 for DCI members and $30 for non-members. The class will explore sound as a pressure disturbance and how that translates into microphone and instrument operation. We will also explore tape and digital recording and turntable function.

This class represents the second offering in the DCI-Boise Rock School partnership. The first was an instrument making class in early October.
